TMG built a new Interactive Visitors Center for this corporate client’s Washington, DC headquarters facility. The project involved a fast-track, five-month design-build complete gut and renovation of an existing space to create the Visitors Center.
TMG’s scope involved completely gutting the first floor space of all architectural finishes, mechanical systems and electrical systems and then rebuilding it into the multi-media, interactive Visitors Center, which includes a virtual reality laboratory, a small theater, and a timeline of the client.
This project was a fast-track project that was issued to TMG under several stages. What would normally have been a 12-month design and construction project was compressed into five months, as the client was under pressure from leadership to open this public space. In order to construct this project in the time required, TMG staff and subcontractors worked on a seven-day a week, multiple shift project for eight weeks. TMG handled over 25 changes orders and 50 RFIs in this eight-week period. Everyone rallied to complete this project successfully for the client.
