Under an IDIQ Contract, TMG performed the design-build conversion of the former warehouse into a tactical training venue. The existing structure consisted of a steel structure with an insulated metal. The design maintained the utility nature of the structure while adding a two-level tactical training facility inside.
The first floor was designed as classroom space that would remain flexible in size and function through a series of moveable partitions hung from the new mezzanine level structure. The first floor is open to the mezzanine structure above and achieved a 9’-0” height. The second floor is accessed through stairs located specifically for tactical training and consist of an open plan environment for various training scenarios and exercises. Two new fire-rated egress stairs serve the mezzanine level and provide exit passage to the exterior.
New mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems were also installed. The lighting system provides situational lighting scenarios for training.
